| 2008 American Eagle Gold Proof Coins Already Issued |
|
The newly struck American Eagle Gold Proof Coins are made in 22-carat gold and feature the mint mark "W," which refers to their making at the United States Mint located in West Point. The obverse of the American gold Eagle coins features the celebrated interpretation of Liberty designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The Liberty's right hand holds a torch while her left hand holds an olive branch.
The coins' reverse shows the image of a male eagle that carries an olive branch. The eagle is illustrated flying above a nest where there's the female eagle together with her baby birds. The design of the reverse was developed by Miley Busiek. It is worth mentioning that each gold coin is sealed in a protective capsule and framed in a beautiful, velvet case. Each coin comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, which states the coin's place in history.
The new American Eagle Gold Proof Coins are minted numerous times for a frosted cameo image exclusively created for collectors. These gold coins are available at 1/10th ounce, ¼ ounce, ½ ounce and 1 ounce denominations.
